King vulture

King vulture
King vulture is the king of all vulture . It is bigger than all vultures in the world . It has thick neck and strong beak . When other vultures eating any thing it come near the meal and all see that it a king vulture then all vultures make a way to the king to come near and eat it.

Taxonomy and systematics

There are two theories on how the King Vulture earned the "King" part of its common name. The first is that the name is a reference to its habit of displacing smaller vultures from a carcass and eating its fill while they wait. An alternative theory reports that the name is derived from Mayan legends, in which the bird was a king who served as a messenger between humans and the gods. This bird was also known as the "White Crow" by the Spanish in Paraguay. It was calledcozcacuauhtli in Nahuatl, derived from cozcatl "collar" and cuauhtli "bird of prey".

Ecology and behavior

Despite its size and gaudy coloration, this vulture is quite inconspicuous when it is perched in trees. While perched, it holds its head lowered and thrust forward. It is non-migratory and, unlike the TurkeyLesser Yellow-headed and American Black Vulture, it generally lives alone or in small family groups.

SAVE ANIMALS
It's super-easy to help animals, no matter how old you are. Check out how Save Animals to get a jump-start on making a huge difference in the lives of animal everywhere: Animals are alive for their own reasons, not to entertain us. Animals in movies, circuses, and zoos are denied everything that is natural and important to them. They will never be allowed to hang out with their families, graze, or do anything that they would do in the wild. Refuse to support this cruelty by never going to a zoo, marine park, or circus that uses animals. If your class is planning on dissecting any animal, ask your teacher for a humane alternative assignment, such as using a computer program to perform a virtual dissection. An animal will be saved, and you will actually learn and remember way more! Check out more info on how to get a dissection alternative at your school.

 THE END

THANK YOU
