Humpback Whale

Humpback Whale
Humpback Whale is looked like blue whale. It can grow 12 meters long. It can 100 fishes.Humpback Whale is belong to a group of animals , mammals.

Taxonomy

Though clearly related to the giant whales of the genus Balaenoptera, the humpback has been the sole member of its genus since Gray's work in 1846. More recently, though, DNA sequencing analysis has indicated the humpback is more closely related to certain rorquals, particularly the fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus), and possibly to the gray whale (Eschrichtius robustus), than it is to rorquals such as the minke whales. If further research confirms these relationships, it will be necessary to reclassify the rorquals.

Ecology

Range and habitat

A large population spreads across the Hawaiian Islands every winter, ranging from the island of Hawaii in the south toKure Atoll in the north. A 2007 study identified seven individuals wintering off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica as having traveled from the Antarctic—around 8,300 kilometres (5,200 mi). Identified by their unique tail patterns, these animals made the longest documented mammalian migration.

Feeding and predation

Humpbacks feed primarily in summer and live off fat reserves during winter. They feed only rarely and opportunistically in their wintering waters. The humpback is an energetic hunter, taking krill and small schooling fish such as Atlantic herringAtlantic salmoncapelin.

Black Caiman

Black Caiman
Black Caiman is belong the group of reptile crocodileion . It is a south America's alligator . It is a carnivore . It can grow 4 meters long.

Characteristics

The black caiman is structurally dissimilar to other caiman species, particularly in the shape of the skull. Compared to other caimans, it has distinctly larger eyes. Although the snout is relatively narrow, the skull (given the species' considerably larger size) is much larger overall than other caimans. The greatest length of the skull can range to over 62 cm (24 in).

Biology and behavior

Various prey will be taken by availability, includes snakesturtlesbirds and mammals, the latter two mainly when they come to drink at the river banks. Mammalian prey mostly include common Amazonian species such as various monkeysslothsarmadillospacasagoutis, coatis, and capybaras. Larger specimens can virtually take any South American terrestrial or riparian vertebrate unfortunate enough to encounter them. Large prey can include smaller species of caimandeerpeccariestapirsanacondasgiant otters, and domestic animals including pigscattlehorses and dogs.

Cape Gannet

Cape Gannet
Cape Gannet is a bird . It has 6 feet long wings. They catching fish in the water. They using mainly a flap-gliding technique

Breeding biology

Cape Gannets begin breeding in August or September. Typically the clutch is a single bluish egg, which soon becomes soiled. Both parents are actively involved in the incubation process which lasts for 42 to 46 days until hatching. Gannets use their foot webs to incubate the egg.

Similar Species

The Cape Gannet is also very similar to the Northern Gannet, but the latter differs from its entirely white tail and its wings, which are only black at the tip. It also is similar to the Blue-footed booby (Sula nebouxii) and was formerly placed in the genus Sula.

Feeding

Cape Gannets are powerful fliers, using mainly a flap-gliding technique, which is more energy consuming than the dynamic-soaring favoured by albatrosses. As all Sulids, they are fish-eating birds that plunge-dive from considerable height.

American Giant Salamander

American Giant Salamander
American Giant Salamander is a amphibian that live in north America's swampland.  The American giant salamander (Andrias davidianus) can reach a length of 1.8 m (5.9 ft).

Etymology

The family name is from the Ancient Greek krypto ("hidden"), and branch ("gill"), which refer to how the members absorb oxygen through capillaries of their side-frills, which function as gills.

Physical description and feeding

The American giant salamander eats aquatic insects, fish, frogs, crabs, and shrimp. They hunt mainly at night. As they have poor eyesight, they use sensory nodes on their heads and bodies to detect minute changes in water pressure, enabling them to find their prey.

Reproduction

The male fertilizes the eggs externally by releasing his sperm onto them, and then guards them for at least three months, until they hatch. At this point, the larvae live off their noticeable stored fat until ready to hunt. Once ready, they hunt as a group rather than individually.

Bobcat

Bobcat
Bobcat is a strong big cat . It is 4 feet long . It has a small tail. It live in North America's snow areas. The bobcat (Lynx rufus) is a North American mammal of the cat family Felidae, appearing during the Irvingtonian stage of around 1.8 million years ago (AEO).

Taxonomy

The bobcat is believed to have evolved from the Eurasian lynx, which crossed into North America by way of the Bering Land Bridge during the Pleistocene, with progenitors arriving as early as 2.6 million years ago.

Physical characteristics

The adult bobcat is 47.5 to 125 cm (18.7 to 49.2 in) long from the head to the base of the tail, averaging 82.7 cm (32.6 in); the stubby tail adds 9 to 20 cm (3.5 to 7.9 in) and its "bobbed" appearance gives the species its name. An adult stands about 30 to 60 cm (12 to 24 in) at the shoulders.

Social structure and home range

The sizes of bobcats' home ranges vary significantly; a World Conservation Union (IUCN) summary of research suggests ranges from 0.02 to 126 sq mi (0.052 to 326.339 km2). One study in Kansas found resident males to have ranges of roughly 8 sq mi (21 km2), and females less than half that area. Transient bobcats were found to have both larger (roughly 22 sq mi (57 km2)) and less well-defined home ranges. Kittens had the smallest range at about 3 sq mi (7.8 km2).
