Sea Gull




Sea Gull
Sea Gull is a bird of prey. It eats fishes , rodents, reptiles, arthropods.It can grow 11.5 inches . It is 1.75 weight. 


Taxonomy

In common usage, members of various gull species are often referred to as sea gulls or seagulls; however, "seagull" is a layperson's term that is not used by most ornithologists and biologists . This name is used informally to refer to a common local species or all gulls in general, and has no fixed taxonomic meaning.



Distribution and habitat

Most gull species are migratory, with birds moving to warmer habitats during the winter, but the extent to which they migrate varies by species. Some species migrate long distances, like the Franklin's Gull, which migrates from Canada to wintering grounds in the south of South America.


Breeding

Most gulls breed once a year and have predictable breeding seasons lasting for three to five months. Gulls begin to assemble around the colony for a few weeks prior to occupying the colony. Existing pairs re-establish their pair-bonds, and unpaired birds begin courting.

Green Anaconda





Green Anaconda
Green Anaconda is the world's largest snake . It can grow 6.6 m long . It can eat a American Alligator. Green Anaconda is the largest and strongest animal in Amazon.



Difficulties in determining maximum size

 Skins can stretch substantially, increasing the snake's size by more than 50% if stretched during the tanning process. Reports without physical proof are considered dubious if from non-scientists, as such individuals may at worst be more interested in promoting themselves or telling a good tale, or at the least may not be sufficiently trained in proper measurement methods. Observational reports of animals which were not captured are even more dubious, as even trained scientists often substantially overestimate the size of anacondas prior to capture.



Current estimates of maximal size

Linnaeus almost certainly chose the scientific name Boa murina based on the original Latin description given by A. Seba in 1735: "Serpens testudinacea americana, murium insidiator" [tortoise-patterned (spotted) American snake, a predator that lies in wait for mice (and rats)]. The Latin adjective murinus (murina) in this case would mean "of mice" or "connected with mice," understood in context as "preying on mice", and not as "mouse-gray-colored" (another possible meaning of Latin murinus) as now often wrongly indicated for E. murinus.


Feeding

Primarily aquatic, they eat a wide variety of prey, almost anything they can manage to overpower, including fish,birds, a variety of mammals, and other reptiles. Particularly large anacondas may even consume large prey such as tapirsdeercapybaras, and caimans.

Hippopotamus
Hippopotamus is a king of beast . It has 50 cm canine teeth . It can divide a crocodile into two pieces. It kill many people than leopards , lion, Nile crocodile. It is a herbivores animal.


Etymology

In Africa, the hippo is known by various names, including seekoei (Afrikaans), mvuvu (Venda), kubu (Lozi) and mvubu (XhosaSiswati and Zulu) in the south; kiboko (Swahili), ensherre (Nkore), tomondo (Turu), nvubu (Luganda), ifuru (Luhya), emiria (Ateso), magawit (Sebei), kibei (Kalenjin) andolmakau (Maasai) in the Great Lakes region;:256 and ጉማርረ/gumarre (Amharic) and jeer (Somali) in the Horn.


Taxonomy and origins

  • H. a. amphibius – (the nominate subspecies) which stretched from Egypt, where they are now extinct, south up the Nile River to Tanzania and Mozambique
  • H. a. kiboko – in Kenya in the African Great Lakes region, and in Somalia in the Horn of Africa. Broader nasals and more hollowed interorbital region
  • H. a. capensis – from Zambia to South Africa, most flattened skull of the subspecies

  • H. a. tschadensis – throughout Western Africa to, as the name suggests, Chad, slightly shorter and wider face, with prominent orbits.



Distribution

he species was common in Egypt's Nile region during antiquity, but has since been extirpated. Pliny the Elder writes that, in his time, the best location in Egypt for capturing this animal was in the Saite nome; the animal could still be found along the Damietta branch after the Arab Conquest in 639. 


Behavior

Adult hippos move at speeds up to 8 km/h (5 mph) in water; typically resurfacing to breathe every three to five minutes. The young have to breathe every two to three minutes. The process of surfacing and breathing is automatic. A hippo sleeping underwater rises and breathes without waking. A hippo closes its nostrils when it submerges into the water.

The Blue Ringed Octopus
The Blue Ringed Octopus is a poisonous mollusk fish . It has blue rings in his body that's why it is called The Blue Ringed Octopus. It found in pacific , western Australia .


Classification


The genus was described by British zoologist Guy Coburn Robson in 1929. There are three confirmed species of Hapalochlaena, and a fourth is still being researched:

Venom

The octopus produces venom containing tetrodotoxinhistaminetryptamineoctopaminetaurineacetylcholine, and dopamine. The major neurotoxin component of the blue-ringed octopus is a venom that was originally known as maculotoxin but was later found to be identical to tetrodotoxin, a neurotoxin also found in pufferfish and some poison dart frogs.

African monitor lizard
African monitor lizard is a reptile that found in Africa .It has sharp claws . It has strong back legs . It's look like their relatives Komodo dragon.

Distribution

A large concentration of monitor lizards occurs on Tioman Island in the Malaysian state of Pahang. Some are now found in South Florida, particularly in the Everglades, where they are becoming a dangerous threat to cattle and to other wildlife, including even alligators.



Etymology

In Tamil and Malayalam, monitor lizards are known as udumbughorpad घोरपड in Marathiuda in Kannada, in Sinhalese as kabaragoya, in Telugu as udumu, in Punjabi andMagahi (and other Bihari languages) as goh, in Assamese as gui xaap, and in Bengali as goshaap or guishaap and गोह (goh) in Hindi. Due to confusion with the large New World lizards of the family Iguanidae, the lizards became known as "goannas" in Australia.



Evolution


In Austronesia where varanids are common, they are known under a large number of local names. They are usually known as biawak (Malay and Indonesian), bayawak(Filipino), binjawak or minjawak (Javanese), or variations thereof. Other names include hokai (Solomon Islands), bwo or puo (Maluku), halo (Cebu), galuf of kaluf (Micronesiaand the Caroline Islands), batua or butaan (Luzon), alu (Bali), hora or ghora (Komodo group of islands), phut (Burmese) and guibang (Manobo)
